Famous Last Words Week 7

First off, this week has been a bit of a blur.  First off the Oklahoma weather is probably something that everyone has been talking about. I think it is very safe to say that our weather here in Oklahoma is pretty bipolar. Hopefully this week all of the ice and snow will melt and we will start seeing some 60 degree or 70 degree weather. Hopefully that’s not just wishful thinking.

Well, lets see part of the reason my week has been so extremely stressful was because I had to take my little man Bratton to the vet early Monday morning. It had all started on Sunday night where he wasn’t walking very well and was a little disoriented and not eating very much of his dog food. Then, on Monday morning he had gone downhill fast. He was falling over and couldn’t even walk. He was rushed to the vet and got an Xray done and the vet had said that she thought he had a slipped disc.

Bratton can’t jump on the couch or on the bed or anything so he hadn’t done anything to hurt himself so we have no clue how he could have slipped his disc.  However, in these little dogs it happens a lot without knowing how it really happed. He was put on pain medicine, a steroid, and an anti inflammatory for the inflammation. Once the medication is gone if he hasn’t improved a lot he will have to more than likely go to a surgeon and have surgery on the disc.

So needless to say I have been super stressed this week with my little fur baby, work, and school. I am very blessed that my Mom can help out with him when I need her to.  Prayers are definitely appreciated ! J

Famous Last Words Week 4

This week has been super hectic! I decided to switch from a Storybook to a Portfolio and I am glad that I decided to do that. As for the readings this week I probably enjoyed this week the most because I really got into my story that I retold about Dasartha giving his title to his son Ramana. I think that it would be such a great feeling stepping down from your title knowing that the person stepping up is going to do such a great job! As for next week, I am really excited to dive deeper into Buck’s Ramayana and see what other stories will peek my interest for my Portfolio and my Storybook posts!

The weather in Oklahoma seems to be so bipolar! It seems at the beginning of the week I was wearing a heavy jacket and at the end of the end of the week I wasn’t wearing one at all! Next week who knows, we may have snow by the rate our weather is going right now! But, this weekend ended my History of Racism class with Dr. George Henderson. Let me tell you, if you ever have the chance to take a class with Dr. Henderson do it because he is the neatest guy I have ever met. This class was a weekend class that took place Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for three consecutive weekends. Even though it ended late some nights it didn’t feel like I was using up my weekend at school.  He started the Human Relations Department at OU and has done many other things for the University of Oklahoma.  I learned so much from him and the entire class became so close within such a short amount of time. If I weren’t graduating this year I would definitely be taking his other class that he offers. This was definitely an experience I will not ever forget.
